I'm a writer and editor working across digital products. My work focuses on how language and structure shape understanding, trust and decision-making — across product experiences and long-form editorial analysis.

Most of what I do sits at the join between content design and editorial production: writing the words inside a product, and writing the analysis around it. Both ask the same question — how do you make complex information feel clear, honest and useful?

Section 01

What I do

I work across two adjacent disciplines that I see as one practice: UX writing and editorial production. In product teams that means navigation labels, error states, onboarding, confirmation messages and the words on screens where decisions get made. In editorial teams it means long-form analysis, reports, podcasts and video — taking a complex subject and giving it shape on the page.

The case studies on this site show the product side. The published work and media sections show the editorial side. Together they cover financial services, healthcare, consumer products, B2B SaaS and emerging technology.

How I work

Good content design isn't decoration. It's a structural decision — a way of organising what a person needs to know at the exact moment they need to know it. I start by reading the product, the audience and the moment carefully, then ask whether the words on screen reflect how a real person would think about the task in front of them.

Principles I work to

Language reflects the user's task, not the system's internals. Labels should describe what a person is trying to do — not what the database calls it.

Clarity earns trust. In high-stakes contexts — health, money, sensitive admin — confusion costs more than friction. Plain words reduce both.

Structure does the heavy lifting. The hierarchy of a page, the order of fields and the rhythm of a paragraph carry as much meaning as the words themselves.

Background

I've worked across product teams and editorial teams in technology and financial services. On the editorial side I've produced and edited long-form analysis at GP Bullhound — covering software, fintech, digital media, education technology, geospatial intelligence and carbon accounting — and launched a weekly podcast and an interview video series with founders and CEOs. On the product side I've worked on UX writing and content design for digital products in healthcare, financial services and audio technology.
